Body found in the sea close to popular holiday beach at seaside town Llanfairfechan in Wales

A BODY has been found in the sea close to a popular holiday beach in a Welsh seaside town.

Cops and coastguards were scrambled to Llanfairfechan beach this morning after the body was found.

A black car was recovered on the beach after it was cordoned off.

North Wales Police said: "We received a report that a body was found in the sea at Llanfairfechan at 8am this morning, September 8.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious and the family and the coroner's office have been informed."
